Marie Dyson lives in the small town of Surprise, Arizona with her husband and toddler son. Up until 2007, Marie worked as a software engineer in the aerospace industry. During that time, she practiced jewelry and bead making as a hobby. Following the birth of her son, Marie chose to become a full-time stay-at-home mom...a calling she considers to be "the best job ever!"
Being a stay-at-home mother has allowed Marie much more time to practice, perfect and expand her skill in making handmade jewelry. Marie's creative passion is in making custom lampwork glass beads and one-of-a-kind jewelry. Her styles range from rustic and organic to refined and elegant.
Marie was first introduced to the world of beads in 2004. While on vacation in New York City with her best friend, they stumbled across a small bead shop in downtown Manhattan. Together they spent a small fortune on raw materials and embarked on what was to become a long journey of custom jewelry creation. Neither Marie nor her friend knew where their adventure would take them, but they both knew they were hooked on the creative process. To this day, Marie remains consistently excited about the world of bead- and jewelry-making. In her own words, "there's always something new and interesting to learn."
Finding and acquiring rare and unusual beads is one way that Marie keeps her custom jewelry creations fresh and intriguing. Marie prides herself on making one-of-a-kind creations. She loves offering jewelry to her customers that no-one else will ever have. In Marie's own words, "You will never go to a party and see your bracelet on someone else's wrist!"
It is this love for unique, one-of-a-kind creations that lead Marie to learn the art of lampworking: the melting and crafting of glass beads over a torch. By making her own beads, Marie ensures that each of her works of jewelry will have an even greater personal touch and unique flair.
