The DIY Daddy
June 25th, 2008: Someone has been busy around the Homegrown Gems house building all kinds of fun and useful things...who builds these things? The DIY Daddy of course! My husband Jay has enjoyed the labors of owning our own home this year by building 'stuff'. It started with a shoe rack, then a small bookcase for the babies books, to a large work space for me in our loft up stairs, to a full set a cabinets in the garage! I must brag a little about my new craft area up stairs..I now have room for my sewing machine and scrapbooking supplies, book shelves space, cabinets and tons of work area! WOW! Thank you sweetie!

The House of Mouse
June 1, 2008: I have decided I would start featuring some products from other sellers that I find on Etsy. I see a lot of wonderful talent on Etsy and want to share my findings! This morning I discovered The House of Mouse - TheHouseOfMouse.etsy.com
I love rodents of all kinds, in fact I have two mice similar to these that were my grandmother's all dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause! We are also pet rat fans in this household and use to have numerous pet rats!
The House of Mouse is located in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and makes ornamental mice from felt! Everything from mice that look like the Beatles to a Doctor! Here is a sample of their work:
